A Tribute to Late Bipin Pal
Das:
We are deeply saddened by the news of
sudden death of Bipin Pal Das last night. He was one of the
few outstanding and outspoken intellectuals in Assam who eneterd
and contributed very positively in the field of Assam politics. I think he
will be remembered as such. Whenever we met him during his many visits
to his daughter and son in Texas (Jeena and Jit), we enjoyed his
lively and intelleigent conversations. He was also a writer of high calibre. I
remember reading one of his article titled "In Search of Identity"
written with in depth analysis of the Assamese culture and language. At
his death Assam lost an intellectual and a politician which is rare to find now
a days.
