Education For All:  “Is Mass Education Really For The Masses?” – the Indian case, at Comparative International Education Society’s (C.I.E.S.) N. E. seminar, George Washington University, Washington D.C., November 2004 ---A critical analysis of Indian education system, highlighting the corruption and inefficiency in the public school system.

 

Strategies for Achieving Educational Equality in India, at Student Research Conference & International Forum (SRC/IF ), Harvard Graduate School of Education, February 2005. It highlighted the causes of inequality in education in India, the current government pol! icies and their drawbacks, and my recommendations.

 

Beyond Dichotomies: Educational Reform - Public and Private Sector Initiatives in India: at C.I.E.S. National seminar at Stanford University,  March 2005. About government and private sector efforts in school education - in providing a competitive edge to the techno-savvy youth of current India.

MANAGEMENT

 

School Education: Administrative Officer cum Teacher for five years at an  English medium, co-educational, private,non-profit, K-12 school in India: JAIPUR SCHOOL ( Feb. 99 – Sept. 2004).

 

 

 Administration:

Was Integral Part of the Top Management . As part of the team I:

·        Helped coordinate reform of secondary classes----with improved enrollments , graduating high school students started  getting selected to reputed, professional colleges. 

·        Helped revamp the Parent-Teacher Meets:  to plug loopholes in school’s effectiveness

·        Helped design an EMIS to identify educationally challenged students and take Early Action

·        Helped streamline teacher recruitments

 

 

Concept Selling for Newspaper: Executive - Space Marketing for 2 and half years at a national English newspaper in India: INDIAN EXPRESS NEWSPAPERS (BOMBAY) LIMITED (June 1996 – Jan.1999)

 

 

·        Created Special Features on educational opportunities at school and higher–ed. levels, on the health sector - in the backward state of Rajasthan. I wrote articles for these features too.

·        Maintained rapport with major corporate clients.

·        Helped improve efficiency in my work place by helping stream lining work procedures.

·        Made suggestions for improvement at high-powered company meetings. I learned from this exercise about long term strategic planning process of this national media conglomerate.

 

TEACHING

 

·  Taught Grade 9 Math at Jaipur School.

·  Taught English and Math to grade 1 and 2 students, for a month. It gave me a perspective about the joys and special skills needed in teaching infants.

·  Cleared written tests for Middle School Math Teacher License of Massachusetts. Awaiting license
