The OP, if he has read all the posts, is not daunted by lots of paging for 
seven seconds instead of no paging for one one-hundredth of a second elapsed 
time.  I would assume from his choice that the elapsed time was irrelevant for 
him, in spite of its being the usual meaning of "efficient" for almost everyone 
else.

Maximising  page faults is scarcely going to let the program run faster than 
the original, which probably didn't produce any at all.
