Ok, had a reply all done, then read the linked thread, and now I think I understand... All you are doing is implementing code that will allow ASSP to basically act as a content filter instead of a proxy/gateway filter, right? For clarification - will what you are doing allow ASSP to be integrated with amavisd-new, in the same way SpamAssassin is now? That would be very valuable, in my opinion.
