We are using "strict qw(vars subs)" - use "strict qw(refs)" is not possible by design. To use "strict refs" we have to make a complete redesign of ASSP. These changes were made to go forward to the multithreading mode of ASSP. For this a "strict refs" in not needed".

I have noticed the increased use of "strict" in ASSP - it has been
welcome.  But in previous versions (including 1.3.5-18.4) I see "strict"
only applied partially ("use strict qw(vars subs)" instead of just "use
strict") .  Is it your intent to use "strict" unconditionally?
