try the following; open ASSP GUI and untick the "as a service" or
"as a daemon" flag, also untick the "quiet" flag (if ticked); then stop
the service/daemon and start directly from cmdline, you should see
messages flowing on the screen as assp starts up; now try sending
the "crash mail" again and copy/paste the errors which will appear
on the assp screen; those may help pinpointing the bug

(and btw set back the settings as usual when done)
