That's a bug. I used that for years, and the description reads: "SMTP error
message to reject invalid senders. The literal REASON is replaced by
(missing MX, missing PTR, invalid Helo, invalid user) depending on the
check.For example:554 5.7.1 Mail appears to be unsolicited : REASON -- send
error reports to [email protected]." 

and it was a blacklisted sender domain not an invalid helo nor a invalid
recipient. And I see 2 error messages chanined with my field being (without
quotes): "554 5.7.1 REASON . Send error reports to abuse (at) mydomain"

Will test if it's fixed in 0.0.18
