Ok,

I will test it on my site and hope that the STARTTLS will work forever.

Thanx
Martin

Hi Martin,

no clue for Ubuntu.

I use OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009 and Net::SSLeay 1.35

>it stop supporting the TLS

If assp detects an error in SSL/TLS when talking to an IP, it writes the IP in
to a cache and will prevent using SSL/TLS for this IP for 24 hours.

Hi Thomas,

this is new old Problem on my site with the ASSP TLS support.

I´m in the third week of the same problem with my ASSP.

My setup:

ASSP version 2.0.2(3.0.02) on Ubuntu 10.04

Net::SMTP 2.31 / 2.31

Net::SMTP::TLS 0.12 / 0.12

Net::SSLeay 1.36 / 1.35

OpenSSL 1.0.0d 1.0.0d / 0.9.8

A hour or sometimes a day the ASSP support the TLS function and I see
"STARTTLS".

Then, without my doing, it stop supporting the TLS. Normal mails are running
fine.

I have tried to update the ASSP and the Server but nothing helped me.

I think the openssl and Net:SSLeay are the reason.

Please tell me whitch Version of OpenSSL an Net:SSLeay are definitely
working for your every day.

(OpenSSL I have updates from 0.9.7... to the newest..)

Thanks for your support.

Martin

Hi Thomas,

no I have not done any update on the machine.

SSL debug give me no more information.

I have the same Idea that the remote server IP has a problem, but these
IP´s are changed....

Until I update the Linux machine, ASSP, Perl the TLS function on SMTP are
still leave me every 30 minutes or shorter.

A telnet to the SMTP with an EHLO Testdomain.org shows direct the STARTTLS

option and after a lot of minutes it is gone.

On the end of day, the STARTTLS function on my both systems are running
continuously. One system I have Test/Upgrade/Reboot and the other only has

only become the newest ASSP.

...I don't know what happened

It´s possible to attack the TLS function from outside that this service
going down?

Thanx for help Thomas.

The case is closed for me....

Martin

looks like a library error - has you done any linux updates or updates at

the MTA software? Check the certificates, the MTA logs - try to SSLdebug.

In case of such an error, assp sets a flag for the failed IP - and will

stop trying to establish SSL connections to this IP for 24 hours. All

these flags are deleted at a restart. You can reset the flags in the GUI

-> left menu(scroll down) ->internal  Caches -> SSL failed

remove the IP from the cache (delete the line and save)

attempt failed with unknown errorerror:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0)

After this message no TLS connection could be established again.

Only a restart help.

Anybody with the same problem?
