It will be as aggressive like configured in 'MaxBayesFileAge'.
Because I get much more spam as ham my setting is '13 67' to keep the
corpus norm between 0.9 and 1.1 .
The first value (spam) is some times changes between 12-16 - depending on
the rebuild results.

Quickly assembled a script to scan the spam/notspam folders and
remove files older than 15 days or greater than 10000 bytes or either
above the 14000 files limit, reran the rebuild and it's going on now, so,
apparenly you were exactly "on the ball" :) what puzzles me is the fact
that the spam/notspam collections keep growing ABOVE the limit and
then over and over; I wonder if the delete code may be revised to be some
more "aggressive"; I understand that this may cause issues in case one
wants to recover a blocked message, yet...
