My script, is in-fact, a real Windows batch script (.CMD).  Anderson made an installer application, and as I understand it - that installer is old and based on old ASSP code.  I used Anderson's installer a long time ago, (no offense to the author, it was excellent for him to create it and put it out , and the flow-chart he made was indeed very helpful) but I found it lacking and resorted back to using manual installations.

used the same script but then upgraded the ActivePerl and the ASSP, but had the same problem with the system crashing on the email interface.  I had just about decided that perl and Win32 were not very good friends.

That's too bad about your experiences with ActivePerl and Win32.  I've had excellent results with ASSP as well as other apps, such as MRTG, etc, all running on the same server as Exchange.  I've done this type of implementation at multiple sites for a few years now.

You should make your script available for download.  It would be very handy for the Windows folks.

Heh...  I invited you to try it because you are having issues, but I am not at a point were I want to be on-hook supporting questions to the general public.  Maybe soon if I feel other things have become dummied-down enough.
