I was caught by that a few months ago :) The relevant rfc is now 1123 (as
cited in the interface)
and says:
The syntax of a legal Internet host name was specified in RFC-952
[DNS:4]. One aspect of host name syntax is hereby changed: the
restriction on the first character is relaxed to allow either a
letter or a digit. Host software MUST support this more liberal
syntax.
The default validHeloRE as used by Ernesto obeys this more liberal rule, but
the first part of his
invalidFormatHeloRE is catching it, which is shown as the default but is not
compliant.
Remove '\d+[_.-]\d+[_.-]|' or put the name in 'don't block these helos' - but
the first is the
better option.
