I have been getting the same thing for quite some time. Since 1.2.6 or so.
Seems to happen if the perl process running assp doesn't shutdown in time
durring the restart of assp. At least in my case. I adjusted my restart
script to kill the perl process before restarting and it took care of it. FWIW.

Subject: [Assp-user] Couldn't create server socket on port '26'

On a server running still assp 1.2.6

I receive this

Feb-1-07 03:54:52 Listening for mail connections at 25 and admin
connections at 55555
Feb-1-07 03:54:52 Couldn't create server socket on port '26' -- maybe
another service is running or I'm not root (uid=0)?
Feb-1-07 03:54:52 Listening for additional mail connections at 26

Should I be worried about the server socket error ? How to avoid this ?
Thanks
