Hi all,
Just want to clear up some things here.....then a question.
ASSP is a proxy.
Emails from the world arrive to ASSP on port 25 (or whichever specified by
admin), ASSP then checks with the local MTA to see if the email account
exists, checks the message if its ok (runs all the checks on the message as
set by admin), and then passes the entire message to the MTA.
Client configuration should have their POP connection directly to MTA (prt
110), and have their SMTP connection to ASSP proxy (prt 25). This allows
ASSP to add all outgoing emails by internal clients to be added to the
whitelist.

Will ASSP handle an SSL SMTP connection from a client and pass the e-mail to
the MTA for delivery?

Regards,
Sam
