I would try, check the box, click apply. Uncheck the box, click apply again.
Also, have you looked at your assp.cfg file to see if there is a line with

EnableDelaying:=

I'm not positive, but it looks like if the code does not find an entry in
the config file for a particular option, it uses a default value. If the
save function can't write that entry to the file (e.g. it's set read only or
permissions are too strict) it won't save your changes. Also, make sure that
there are no characters after the = sign. It should be =, then newline.
