Never fear.  I do it all the time!  I think something is a great dandy 
idea until someone bonks me on the head and tells me all the reasons I 
didn't think about for it to be a bad idea.  I'm going to go with 
everyone else on this one and say that Fritz's idea of a 
"challenge/response" system is probably the best compromise that you can 
have.
