Can you tell us what mail server system they are running? Exchange,
POP3, etc. If you run ASSP on a separate server like we do you will
decrease the load on your mail server significantly. We have an
external mail server running ASSP, ClamSMTP, and Sendmail, which then
delivers the incoming mail to our Exchange server which sits inside our
firewall.
This setup blocks a huge portion of email before it ever hits our
internal mail server, and the external mail server is hardly even
working as you can see from the stats, however we only process an
average of 900 emails a day.
ASSP Proxy Uptime: 18.709 days 453.871 days Messages Processed: 18259
(975.9 per day) 386304 (851.1 per day) Non-Local Mail Blocked: 49.2%
40.6% CPU Usage: 1.02% (0.57% avg) 0.63% avg
I hope this helps.

Subject: [Assp-user] ASSP Performance
I have a potential client who I need to convince of using this SPAM
filter. they are worried about the performance hit it would have on
their mail server. can you guys send me detailed information on how ASSP
doesn't cause a performance hit upon your servers? If any of you are
running this on a large corporate network and can send me information in
regards to this that would be awesome.
thanks
