Thanks for the pointers, I wasn't using the SaneSecurity signatures, so
I'm not sure if this fixed my issue or not, I have upgraded to 1.3.2, so
we'll see what that does.

However, I did finally figure out that the reason for the ASSP lockup
was because Clamd (on Windows) was crashing. I'm not sure why it was
crashing, but when ASSP couldn't communicate with Clamd, it would hang.
I don't think this has been fixed in 1.3.2 (I tested by forcing clamd to
shutdown while ASSP was running and ASSP would still lock up). Is this
the "timeout" fix that you all are referring to? If so, I must be doing
something wrong, because ASSP will not "timeout" waiting for clamd to
respond which is causing it to stop processing mail if clamd fails for
me.

Yeah, this one caused me some pain before I found that setting.
You can set it globally or set it at run time in the script, either
works.

Technically though, the issue was the timeout code for the ClamAV
scanning. It has been re-written in 1.3.2 (and backported to the 1.3.1
on Fritz's site) to eliminate the issue (at least it did for me).
