Hi guys, I've been watching the .pdf spam debate with interest, and feel that its about time I sort out my clamav set up on my server!!
A couple of questions... I'm using debian, which can (ofcourse) use apt-get to install clamav. Simple. No bother. However, I "hear" its better to get the source code as its newer... So, I manage to install that and it flashes up all the right messages when I run it. Job done. Right, having done that: i. How do I make sure the right version of clam is running (as I've got aptget versions, self-installed version etc...) ii. How do I test that ASSP is seeing the right clam iii. and then install these funky new signatures to get rid of the pdf spam etc? I know this is shockingly basic and there's lots of other sites to look at, but if anyone can answer it easily I'd appreciate it!
