Please forgive me for asking a question that can probably be answered
by reading the fabulous manual. I have read the ASSP documentation,
but I am probably not reading it correctly, because I do not
understand why I am not getting automatic whitelisting of addresses to
whom I send mail. I am rather certain that I have set up my outgoing
mail to pass thru ASSP on its way to postfix, just as my incoming mail
does. Here are the relevant lines from my log file:
Oct-10-08 12:37:17 Connected: 127.0.0.1:56581 -> 127.0.0.1:25 -> 127.0.0.1:24
Oct-10-08 12:37:17 127.0.0.1 <> to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] recipient accepted
unchecked: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Oct-10-08 12:37:18 [Local/White] 127.0.0.1 <> to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] local or
whitelisted - Test_of_whitelisting_via_explicit_invocation_of_ma ->
/etc/mail/assp/notspam/1379.eml
Oct-10-08 12:37:18 127.0.0.1 <> to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] is disconnected
Nevertheless, although I successfully sent mail to one of my other
mail accounts, the recipient address did not get automatically added
to my whitelist. I thought that ASSP automatically adds such
addresses to the whitelist, if you sent up your outgoing mail to go
thru ASSP, as I have done.
What am I failing to understand correctly? Thank you in advance for
your reply.
