well... I did that w/o changing ASSP; just a matter of
setting up stunnel (www.stunnel.org) to listen on the
needed ports and forward to ASSP (or to the POP3
or IMAP ports); sure, it will just be a plain vanilla
SSL connection, but sometimes it may be useful
as well :)

the only drawback with such a config is that ASSP
and/or the internal MTA won't see the real connecting
IP since it will be proxied by stunnel, but in general,
that shouldn't be a big issue
