My original thinking was I just want to have the modules upgraded that
needed upgrading.  But now that I know to go with fresh installs of the
needed modules that is fine with me. 

This will be my first experience upgrading ASSP and I want to find out
as much ahead of time as I can.

I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly. You are not sure if
you should do the part of the installation/update which is recommended
to install all modules? Why are you not sure? Why not just do it?

And yes, i will complete the install.txt with the text:
