We're running ASSP in a 200,000 e-mail a day environment and I can't keep it running for more than 30 minutes to an hour at a time. It doesn't lock up - it just terminates in a semi-graceful way (doesn't save cached data or do normal shutdown activities but it does kill the perl process and release the memory). I've written a watchdog cron job to restart it but it sure would be nice if it would keep running. (FYI: I've changed all the databases to DB: using MySQL and have tried turning off all caching - everywhere I could find a cache setting - with no improvement.) However, I've not tried disabling Bayes altogether. I'll do that and report back.
