Hey,

Strange indeed, and interesting. Skype chatlog shows my attempts to
raise you (Pascal) on 11/13 and then 3/13, unanswered, and sent-mail
shows my mail to you on 11/16. Maybe the email got discarded by your
ASSP? ;P but in my experience all my skype chat lines get delivered. Not
all that important though; my point's made (perhaps a bit harshly for
which i ask your excuses, but you cant argue with results: we're talking)...

What IS important is the reality of my ASSP situation and how i'm
obviously not the only one feeling very let down here. Lets take a deep
breath and remember we're all on the same side(s): pro-open-source and
anti-spam for both operational and ethical reasons. I truly believe mail
should be given back to those of us who respect it and perhaps even
remember a time when it was usable unfiltered, just as i believe
open-source is the direction to lead the 'net. At the same time I'M not
a member of this or any other current open-source project [hats off to
those who are] so i can only imagine that Pascal and Fritz are at least
as committed to these ideas as i am. And it's also clear that the dev
team for ASSP has indeed built something impressive that is helping lots
of happy users.

That said, the nature of spam and anti-spam controls and the level of
current knowledge one must keep to properly tweak ASSP and keep it
running so it doesn't ruin everyones communications and cost endless
time means this is no plug-n-play solution. Hell, just getting perl
installed properly is a minor crusade for most admins i know. Still
there are people like myself and Mike here willing to give it a try.
Please don't tell us we're not dedicated because we can't get it set up
right or marshall help to do so -- we're here spending the time to talk
about it, arent we!

What this means is there's a real market here where this real need just
isn't being met. Sure, you're busy, fritz is busy; everyone's busy..
What i think you assp experts should ask yourself is what it would take
for you to be satisfied helping the users so that they actually have the
experience of being assisted. And we wont always need our hands
held...Pascal, you're a webhost, so im sure you're also familiar with
the fact that after initial move-in needs, clients will generally float
along with very minor support needs for months on end. I think assp
setup would be like that if the happy users are anything to go by! So,
what is it? A flat fee? Hourly rate? Monthly subscription with yearly
contract? How much? TELL us and maybe it can be made worth your while.
When ASSP works you can be sure happy users will refer other sufferers
directly to you. On the other hand, if you think you'd simply have to
ask too much, TELL THE PUBLIC THAT TOO so they know before they commit
the time and money that they'll end up largely on their own.

So this leaves us back at our original questions....Are we going to get
some help, some real help, or not? If so, when and for how much? Time is
money and missed emails and eventual lost clients and we're business
owners so that's gotta be the bottom line. Thanks for your time so far,
regardless, and a pleasant rest of the weekend to you all.
