This was fixed in 2015-04-27 fixed in assp 2.4.4 build 15117:
- it was possible that the ASSP_AFC plugin removed files from the assp base folder and subfolders, if the 'ZIP' analyzing was configured Thomas Von: Jay <[email protected]> An: For Users of ASSP <[email protected]> Datum: 04.08.2015 20:21 Betreff: [Assp-user] ASSP Directory cleaned out? Hey everyone, I have a major concern and wondered if anyone else has run into this. There have been at least 3 cases now where my ASSP program directory gets cleaned out except for a few folders and a few files. The main files like the assp.config, spamdb, and all the rest of the files from the main directory are gone. I keep redundant backups of all this stuff, so putting it back is not really a big issue. My main concern is why did this happen in the first place? Looking at my log file for the time period of when it happened nothing suspicious showed up in the maillog.txt file other than normal activity. Last message was delivered and then when it came time for ASSP to restart is when the service never came back up. This is set via MemoryUsageLimit, we have it set to 950MB. So looking at the debug log folder there is nothing indicating as issue here either. I am completely stumped how one minute ASSP is fine and then the next 95% of the folder is missing. Another bit of information before anyone asks, I did uninstall our AVG antivirus a few days ago because it took a bad update. So I can rule out the antivirus as the culprit here as it was not installed at the time of the ASSP folder cleanout. I have also gone through and made sure that the server was not infected with any spyware. Any scans I have done have turned up clean. Our firewall is running and we have all but the main ports open for mail traffic to get through to our server. And yes our file sharing firewall rule is locked down to just communication between the 2 mail servers we have for synchronizing ASSP and email betweent eh 2 servers. This is a 1 way sync as well. So the offline server would only copy the information from the currently running server. The first 2 times this happened there was suspicion of a user error connected into the server (employee checking backups), but this time I was connected to the server adding a few domains to our domain white list file. We are currently using ASSP version 2.4.1(14085) and are planning on upgrading soon to a newer build. It just takes time for us because we have to coordinate with all of our users. For Perl, we are using version 5.16.3 from ActiveState. Looking at the modules in ASSP under the Perl Modules section, we have either the exact module version installed or newer than the required module. I could list them all here if this information is needed. Has anyone else seen this kind of weird behavior? I don't see anything in our event logs either in Windows indicating a problem. Thank you in advanced for any input. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Assp-user mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/assp-user DISCLAIMER: ******************************************************* This email and any files transmitted with it may be confidential, legally privileged and protected in law and are intended solely for the use of the individual to whom it is addressed.
