IMHO if ASSP was modified to allow you to set those paths in the config file, 
it 
would make splitting up much easier, and not require sed, etc. I think over 
the years there was some talk of that, but clearly it never happened. Though I 
think some paths were added to assp config.

You will see others were doing this before me, like on BSD.
