There are no changes related to syslog from 2.5.3 build 16294 to 2.5.3
build 16318.
But syslog has got changes from 2.5.1 build 16177 to 2.5.3 build 16294 -
read the changelog.

It is working like expected for me. But I only use the old style
syslogging, no RFC3164 or RFC5424 logging.
There were no reports or tickets after the syslog changes at 2016-08-23
and 2016-09-06.

This is currently not supported, but will be in a future release. Using
TCP for Syslog instead of the default UDP is also addressed for a future
release.

Switching back to older builds in the same version is possible.
Switching back to older versions may cause damaged configuration! Make a
backup of the assp.cfg, assp_sync.cfg and the 'files' folder first!
It is also required to bring all perl modules uptodate, if an assp version
upgrade is done - at least short time after the upgrade. The GUI shows the
possibly outdated modules.

I have not had a chance to track down exactly the issue. I haven't had a

to look at assp logs in some time. Given I have ran it for years. Though

excuse really.
Seems back when I upgraded to 2.5.3 build 16294 syslog'ing stopped
working. I
just reverted to 2.5.1 build 16177. Soon as I restarted it started logging
again. I am not sure if this is addressed in the 2.5.3 build 16318.
