You can use any perl installation, how ever the envirionment (path,
libpath ...) must be setup right.
In addition assp looks up perl modules in '..../assp' , '..../assp/lib' ,
'..../assp/Plugins'.

>/home/username/.cpan

This path is IMHO not useable. It is created, used and cleanedup by the
cpan app and its modules.

It is recommended to keep perl and the installed modules uptodate. The
perl module versions recommened by assp are mimimum requirements. If there
is anything changed, assp will show it and the assp changelog will have a
hint.

Betreff: [Assp-user] path for perl installation

Hi guys,

Does ASSP expect perl with it's modules always in the default perl
location or can we work with user based installed modules as well, do
like:

/home/username/.cpan

Is there also some extra info about the recommended module versions
and higher/lower numbers ? is much higher then recommended mostly
backwards compatible ?

Woud be nice to know.

Thanks!
