Perhaps closer to their core competency, but not closer to Gates' vision of where Microsoft should be. His idea of MS is a company that brings people together in groups and communities. Communication; Entertainment; Productivity. Communication is very much a core of his vision. Whether or not one could argue if they've gotten it right yet is another story.
I think the PBX is a natural evolution for them (especially with their strides in Live Messenger). And it's really no more threatening or ominous to the world of open-source PBXes than MS Exchange is to the world of open-source email. Whether they stick with it or not? Well... that depends on whether or not it makes a profit. :) Alex Balashov wrote: > On Thu, 11 Oct 2007, Aleks Clark wrote: > > >> I dunno about the core competency...seems the Xbox is doing ok :D >> > > Much closer to their core competency than telephony. > > -- > Alex Balashov > Evariste Systems > Web : http://www.evaristesys.com/ > Tel : +1-678-954-0670 > Direct : +1-678-954-0671 > > _______________________________________________ > --Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com-- > > asterisk-biz mailing list > To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-biz > _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com-- asterisk-biz mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-biz
