I have had this happen: I was calling in an auto accident, and I didn't even hear the first ring when I saw the fire engines coming over the hill. Almost immediately, I got a call back from a 10-digit DN which turned out to be the dispatcher at the PSAP checking to see that everything was ok. This was Nextel, but the same principles likely apply. Cheers, -- jr 'yes, I saved the number; do I look like an idiot?' a -- Jay R.
