The solution still uses asterisk as a component of the solution. The current solution solves the multitenant issue and scaling issue. For example most asterisk solutions are 1 to 1 with the hardware. You may get 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 with ZEN or VM. Unfortunately neither work very well and they have problems with real time.
With the current implementation of Ring Carrier, You can have from 50 - 75 virtual Asterisk PBXs running on the system. This saves you Rack space, Power and management. You can give each company their own PBX. It will only cost Approximately $80. You can give a company with 1 employee their own PBX. There is a separate management portal for the provider(fabric manager), the enterprise and the end-user. This is either a software or Software & hardware solution. It is your choice. This way you can continue with the same brand of hardware you are using. The product is sold by a server license. Thus, the bigger the box, the more Simultaneous calls and more PBXs that can be supported on the one box producing a better ROI. Ring carrier does provide a gateway which we would highly recommend if you are going to perform any transcoding. The Gateway will scale from 4-T1/E1 to 64-T1/E1 or 1-DS3 to 3-DS3s or 1 OC3 in a 1U rack mount Box. It must be a 2 U if you want Redundant Hot swap power supplies. Please free to contact me to set up a demo. You will not be disappointed. This was just the over view. You should hear about the good stuff. We get up early here so we would be happy to give you a demo at the end of your day. I even noticed that the former owner of Signate is one of the principals of RingCarrier - perhaps he was one of the purchased assets :-) I didn't see a single explicit mention of Asterisk on the whole site, with the exception of Paul's book (perhaps RingCarrier doesn't use Asterisk, although it does mention IAX2 and DUNDi, and I infer that Fax usage uses spandsp). I also couldn't work out whether they/you only sell complete systems, or also sell a software-only solution to install on one's own hardware.
