Got asterisk up and running on 4.11-STABLE. I built the latest asterisk, but the latest zaptel (.10?) is apparently for 5.x (it crashes 4.x!). I got everything to run with zaptel (.08) from the latest 4.11 ports tree, though asterisk complains about it. I have asterisk running on several other 5.x machines with no problems so far. On this one, however, I am having very strange problems. An AGI app that I threw together, which does very little more than a few GET DATA and STREAM FILE commands, seems to randomly skip playback, timeout on DTMF, and/or simply hangup! On a rare occasion it will complete normally.
I played with loading or not loading ztdummy, but this doesn't seem to have any effect. The only error on the console is "Wait failed (no such file)" or something very close to that, when playback is skipped. I dove into the source and found this error in two places, but have not tried to figure out why it is happening. One more possible complication is that the machine is a four processor Xeon. I understand there is some flakiness with SMP and FreeBSD? Or is that just 5.x? There are no zaptel interfaces on the box - intention is to be a simple IAX gateway. You might be wondering why I am wasting my time if I have it running correctly on 5.x machines. Sadly I am trying to borrow some time on a server for a demo, and I have no control over it running 4.11. I am hoping someone out there has made this work correctly and can lend a hand with some advice? TIA! j _______________________________________________ Asterisk-BSD mailing list [email protected] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-bsd
