I'm running Asterisk 1.2.1

Thanks to Richard Neese I got registry tool for FreeBSD 5.2 (found on
"unsupported" directory on digium's FTP site) to execute. Now the problem
is:

Connecting to Digium License Server (216.207.245.3:5646)...FAILED(2)!

Get http://ftp.digium.com/pub/asterisk/g729/register_utility/32-bit/register

Change its ABI using brandelf:

brandelf -t Linux register
chmod 755 register

and use linux_base-gentoo-stage3 libs, with linux_base-fc4 doesn't work.

We are using asterisk-1.2.17 + zaptel-1.2.3 + codec_g729a.so, codec translation works great and we can use our TE110P for E1 connection too.

On our tests this codec works with atesterisk 1.2.14, 1.2.15, 1.2.16 and 1.2.17, it doesn't work with 1.2.13, probably doesn't work with asterisk <= 1.2.13.

Paulo Fragoso.

I'm unable to ping that IP address from any of my 3 ISPs. So I guess it's
really down or not accepting ICMP requests.
Now i'm writting an email to digium's support. Let's see what they reply.

Thank you all ;)

Hi,
I'm having problems installing codec g729 on my Asterisk that's running on FreeBSD 6.0 codec_g729a.so module found on "unsupported" directory loads ok, but the register utility (for Linux) doesn't seem to register the license key correctly, because when I issue "show g729" under Asterisk's CLI it says that the command is invalid. It doesn't matter how many times I run the register utility, it allways says that the license key I enter is available for registration. register utility for freebsd on unsupported directory doesn't run, so I use Linux version changing the ELF type to "Linux". Under the "unsupported" directory of digium's FTP, there are only files for FreeBSD 5.4 What should I do?
Any ideas?

What version of Asterisk are you running?
