Hi! First of all, Asterisk 1.4.8 is not in ports yet.
How did you build the software? What configuration options are you using? What warnings do you get when you compile "chan_capi" ? Try "Asterisk 1.4.4" from ports first, even though it has some security issues with IAX2.
