UK-ISUP has more than minor differences from the ETSI brand of ISUP (it is effectively a BT version). ETSI-ISUP in use in the UK (both version 1 & 2) are identical and the EU approval version would be fine for the UK.

Its a long time since I worked on UK SS7, but it didn't seem like such a big difference.

Maybe, but UKISUP v2 is to replace BT-IUP as the BT interconnect protocol, so BT have had to shove a whole load of stuff into it to make it 'conform' to the old way of doing things.
