Hi everyone, I have been waiting to see if anyone else has come across this yet or not. It seems that the last few changes made to zttranscode in trunk is causing a bad page state and the kernel then produces a bt. I have tried clean check outs and updated to the latest kernel 2.6.17-1.2142_FC4.
I receive this message in my logs and also at the console when I have verbose on. I only load ztdummy and then I start asterisk. After getting the message about a bad page state, I stop asterisk and try to unload ztdummy and then zaptel. It tells me that zttranscode is running so I unload that as well and then zaptel. If I start asterisk without the zaptel drivers loaded, there is no message produced. Also, if I compile the zaptel drivers without zttranscode, everything runs fine. So, I think I have narrowed it down to zttranscode. (Also, reboots do not solve this.) Here is the bt from my logs: Jul 26 22:58:23 ns1 kernel: Zapata Telephony Interface Registered on major 196 Jul 26 22:58:23 ns1 kernel: Zaptel Version: SVN-trunk-r1247 Echo Canceller: MG2 Jul 26 22:58:23 ns1 kernel: ztdummy: RTC rate is 1024 Jul 26 22:58:23 ns1 kernel: Registered tone zone 0 (United States / North America) Jul 26 22:58:29 ns1 kernel: Zaptel Transcoder support loaded Jul 26 22:58:29 ns1 kernel: Registered tone zone 0 (United States / North America) Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Bad page state in process 'events/0' Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: page:c1007500 flags:0x00000400 mapping:00000000 mapcount:0 count:0 (Not tainted) Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Trying to fix it up, but a reboot is needed Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Backtrace: Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c044069f> bad_page+0x4a/0x71 <c0440a44> __free_pages_ok+0x87/0x12a Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04cfacd> memmove+0xe/0x22 <c0454510> kmem_freepages+0x6e/0x88 Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c045464a> slab_destroy+0x53/0x6c <c04549e2> cache_reap+0x14e/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c0427729> run_workqueue+0x76/0xb3 <c0454894> cache_reap+0x0/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04277f3> worker_thread+0x0/0x10b <c04278ce> worker_thread+0xdb/0x10b Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04177bc> default_wake_function+0x0/0xc <c042a0b4> kthread+0x90/0xbc Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c042a024> kthread+0x0/0xbc <c0401005> kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0xb Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Bad page state in process 'events/0' Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: page:c1007520 flags:0x00000400 mapping:00000000 mapcount:0 count:0 (Tainted: G B) Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Trying to fix it up, but a reboot is needed Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Backtrace: Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c044069f> bad_page+0x4a/0x71 <c0440a44> __free_pages_ok+0x87/0x12a Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04cfacd> memmove+0xe/0x22 <c0454510> kmem_freepages+0x6e/0x88 Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c045464a> slab_destroy+0x53/0x6c <c04549e2> cache_reap+0x14e/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c0427729> run_workqueue+0x76/0xb3 <c0454894> cache_reap+0x0/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04277f3> worker_thread+0x0/0x10b <c04278ce> worker_thread+0xdb/0x10b Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04177bc> default_wake_function+0x0/0xc <c042a0b4> kthread+0x90/0xbc Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c042a024> kthread+0x0/0xbc <c0401005> kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0xb Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Bad page state in process 'events/0' Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: page:c1007540 flags:0x00000400 mapping:00000000 mapcount:0 count:0 (Tainted: G B) Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Trying to fix it up, but a reboot is needed Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Backtrace: Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c044069f> bad_page+0x4a/0x71 <c0440a44> __free_pages_ok+0x87/0x12a Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04cfacd> memmove+0xe/0x22 <c0454510> kmem_freepages+0x6e/0x88 Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c045464a> slab_destroy+0x53/0x6c <c04549e2> cache_reap+0x14e/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c0427729> run_workqueue+0x76/0xb3 <c0454894> cache_reap+0x0/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04277f3> worker_thread+0x0/0x10b <c04278ce> worker_thread+0xdb/0x10b Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04177bc> default_wake_function+0x0/0xc <c042a0b4> kthread+0x90/0xbc Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c042a024> kthread+0x0/0xbc <c0401005> kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0xb Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Bad page state in process 'events/0' Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: page:c1007560 flags:0x00000400 mapping:00000000 mapcount:0 count:0 (Tainted: G B) Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Trying to fix it up, but a reboot is needed Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: Backtrace: Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c044069f> bad_page+0x4a/0x71 <c0440a44> __free_pages_ok+0x87/0x12a Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04cfacd> memmove+0xe/0x22 <c0454510> kmem_freepages+0x6e/0x88 Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c045464a> slab_destroy+0x53/0x6c <c04549e2> cache_reap+0x14e/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c0427729> run_workqueue+0x76/0xb3 <c0454894> cache_reap+0x0/0x19f Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04277f3> worker_thread+0x0/0x10b <c04278ce> worker_thread+0xdb/0x10b Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c04177bc> default_wake_function+0x0/0xc <c042a0b4> kthread+0x90/0xbc Jul 26 22:58:37 ns1 kernel: <c042a024> kthread+0x0/0xbc <c0401005> kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0xb Should I open up a bug report with the above information?
