John, Have you made any changes recently? I'm assuming since you are posting in the -gui mailing list that you use the GUI, however, this sounds more like an issue between your asterisk and zaptel installations. Being unable to open a pseudo device, i'm pretty positive, is not something controlled by the GUI. You might have better luck posting in asterisk-users, forums or filing a bug report on bugs.digium.com.
I'd help if I can, but this just doesn't seem GUI related and thats the purpose of this list. You'll get better advice posting to the suggested areas.
