Marvin,
The Asterisk-GUI is flexible enough to handle your "unique" dialplan features,
but its just the Hardware config that its a little strict on. Generally, you
can configure you're hardware however you'd like and the GUI will do its best
to recognize your configuration (according to its assumptions). But you're
request is that it do something outside of its assumptions, which is, split a
T1's ports for users and trunks that is not being split by the T1 card itself.
The GUI just doesn't handle that condition (because it doesn't support your
channel bank that is doing the splitting).

That would be a cool feature to have, however, it is probably a rare case and
not something that seems feasible to add to the project. If you need any help
though, we'll do what we can. :-)

Subject: Re: [asterisk-gui] Hardware setup for channel bank

I am currently using the Adit channels banks in 2 production settings without
any problems. They work great and I didn't have any issues with configuring
them in the asterisk environment which is maintained by manually editing all
the conf files. I would like to move most of the configuration setup to a GUI
to make it easier for other personell to add/modify user and extension
settings. Maybe this isn't a good idea as we do have some "unique" features in
our dialplan.

I was having trouble with the asterisk-gui-2.0 recognizing the individual
channels and displaying them as options during user setup.

I don't know about the Asterisk GUI you are using but I have used the Adit 600
in a bunch of smaller installs for both FXO and FXS connections. Sounds like
you need to do some manual editing of the conf files. Make sure you are set for
RBS and not PRI then simply setup your zaptel, zapata, and Adit 600 channel
signaling as needed.

The Adit's I have used offer top notch call quality and are rock solid.

Subject: [asterisk-gui] Hardware setup for channel bank

I have a TE122 card which has (1) T1 port that is connected to an Adit 600
channel bank. Channels 1-8 are FXO ports and 9-24 are FXS ports which are
connected to internal phone extensions. How do I setup the GUI so the analog
ports are available when I configure users? When I use the "Configure Hardware"
section of the GUI it detects the card and sets the configuration as a digital
trunk, but this won't allow me individual access to the ports for user
assignment.

My testing enviroment is .....

asterisk-1.4.25.1
dahdi -linux-2.1.04
asterisk-gui-2.0

I have a working asterisk 1.4 setup in production that is maintained by using
the standard conf files, but I'd like to use a GUI if it doesn't turn out to be
to restrictive. I'm a little vague on what options are available in the
users.conf file and how those settings effect the GUI.
