For the archive: Upgrading from unixODBC 2.0.7-3 to 2.2.0-5 solved the problem for me.
rpm -e libodbc++-devel-0.2.2pre4-12 rpm -e unixODBC-devel-2.0.7-3 rpm -U unixODBC-2.2.0-5.i386.rpm > so far I didn't succeed in getting 1.2 compiled on a RH72 System (with > gcc 3.0.4).
