Checking e-mail this morning it looks like we have two independent "fixes" that both do what has been suggested in this thread.
No need for a third except posibly a merge of the two.
Would you care to elaborate? I don't see anything in asterisk-users, and no mention of SIP-behind-NAT in CVS changelog... maybe I should start subscribing to asterisk-dev
