I agree, using mpg123 for streaming from Shoutcast-type servers hasn't worked well for me either. I would prefer to use SlimServer as you can, through LAME, drop the bitrate and file quality down to the point where you wouldn't necessarily need further conversion, but this requires /stream.mp3 to be added to the end of the URL (which I haven't been able to get to work).
If Shoutcast streaming HAS worked well for folks, maybe you could provide us with some insight. I tried this. however it doesn't work. apparently, asterisk doesn't read from the mpg123 when no one is listening to MOH, and stuff appear to be stacking inside a pipe of some sort. when the next caller gets the MOH, he gets the music from 5 minutes ago _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users _______________________________________________ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
