I had a slide on this at my astricon presentation last week (about developing our IAX/java softphone)
The slide basically said that I did IAX instead of SIP because the IAX draft RFC is ~100 pages whereas there are > 100 RFCs on SIP/STUN/RTP - That's a lot more reading !
