find /lib/modules/`uname -r` -name zaptel.ko
I expect it wasn't, so this should probably not return anything.
What happens when you run 'make modues' in the zaptel source directory?
What is your kernel version?
uname -r
Do you have kernel source/headers for that kernel?
e.g:
ls -l /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build
