This feature (confirm calls) works fine on another ring group I have 
(that only contains a single, external number), so I don't think the 
issue is with my SIP provider "answering" the calls before they are 
really answered.

Also - even if this was the case - the call was getting considered 
"answered" somehow before it really was - asterisk is not supposed to 
stop the other phones from ringing until the user presses "1".  
Remember, my problem only occurs when I enable the confirm calls 
feature.  I'm using Trixbox, so I don't know exactly what happens when I 
check that box.

Hmmm is ringall the answer?  Not hunting or anything like that.  Or are 
asking how the external call is routed? It goes out through a SIP trunk.
