The switch statement allows you to 'include' a context from another machine into your machine.
Problems with it was if the other machine was unavailable, or even slow to respond, your machine would hang until it timed out. On voip-info.org the switch statement seems to be used to connect 2 asterisk servers, but i could not find a satisfactory explanation for the this statement.
