Not to alarm you too much, but MCI WorldCom has a patent on this kind of thing and is suing people that develop/implement/use these kinds of systems. I wasn't aware that an idea could be patented or even an implementation, but basically, from what I saw they patented a flowchart (!!).
Basically, check into the relevant patents for this kind of system.
Just giving you a heads up.
