zapata.conf lives in /etc/asterisk/. (For future reference, "sudo find / | grep -i zapata.conf" may help.) It can be created using genzaptelconf which can be found in zaptel/xpp/utils/. It can be created using "make samples" from your Asterisk source directory, but this may clobber other parts of your configuration.
