That said, I believe you end up naming your "extensions.conf" file to "extensions_additional.conf" and freepbx will pick it up when it starts. It's been a long, long time since I've dealt with freepbx -- in fact I went the other way: from freepbx+asterisk to pure asterisk. When I was using freepbx that was the solution you seek.
