I know. However, in real life you have to set the timeout quite high. When people pick a phone number from a sheet of paper (or an e-mail) and they have to dial such long numbers like 0107801708111234 then usually make pauses in the middle. The default 3 second auto-dial-timeout would then probably fire. So in practice you have to set it to 7 or 10 or even higher.
