I too had difficulty with chan_h323 driver. However, I used chan_oh323 driver and it worked in the second attempt. The trick is to use the right version on pwlib and openh323 libs. The best way to ensure that is to get them from the same site where you get the chan_oh323 driver. Works like a charm if you just followed the README.
