I was even considering going further and writing a crossplatform or a webapp for configuring. However I was thinking if someone has written some notes on the config file specification that could save a lot of time. I have no intention of competing with gsconfigure since I think it's an excellent app although I have to boot into windows to use it.

Rewrite the app in Delphi. In Delphi, it's quite easy to write an app without Active-X, where all is compiled into the Program. HTTP access from inside Delphi is really no problem.

This way you get one EXE file that you can deploy onto Win95, Win98, WinXT, Win2000, WinWhatever.


And: older versions of Delphi are even free :-)
